Outgoing 2nd Rear Commodore, Todd Geyer, was awarded this year's Yachtsman of the Year as recognition for his contribution to MYC during the past two years. Todd was the mastermind behind the rehabilitation of the O'Day Day Sailer, a project waiting completion after two other efforts made little progress. Outfitted with reconstructed internal framing supports, a cast off Hobie mast and sail, some significant rebuild, and a solar powered bilge pump, Mariana was christened into use on the water this past summer. Todd brought many new members into the club, sailed a co-owned Yamaha 25, and was a master of boat repair and House and Grounds projects. In true form, he was the Energizer Bunny that kept MYC 'hopping.' Shown above is Todd with Commodore Tim Armour who made the award on the last Friday night before the Geyer's departure.
